How To Inspect Your Raised Foundation – Foundation Repair Tip of the Day #119

Hope your staying dry on this rainy Friday!!
In today’s #FoundationRepair #TipOfTheDay Justin is back to discuss how to inspect your homes raised foundation, or crawlspace. If your home is on a raised foundation, you’ll probably want to hop in there and inspect it atleast every couple of years. The first thing you’ll want to do is grab the necessary equipment… Justin recommends coveralls, flashlights, a mask of some kind, and maybe a piece of PVC to defend yourself from any potential spider webs.🙈
After finding your crawlspace access door, you’ll want to crawl around the entire perimeter looking for things like:
Is your home bolted to the foundation?
Are your cripple walls braced?
Are all of your posts and pads properly strapped to the girder beams?
Is any of the wood or subflooring cracked or rotting?

These are some of the more basic things to look for… If you’d like to have a professional opinion please give us a call and schedule your FREE inspection today.
