Good Morning and Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend?
Brian is back with another #FoundationRepair #TipOfTheDay and today he discusses the pros and cons of pier and beam foundations. A pier and beam foundation, or a raised foundation, was used in constructing Southern California homes up until the mid 70’s. We have a ton of potential homeowners that ask us, should I purchase a home on a pier and beam foundation? The answer to that is… it’s really up to you! Pier and beam foundations aren’t necessarily bad, but they aren’t typically used in home construction any longer. If you do move forward, though, please be sure to hop down in the crawlspace or call a professional to inspect the foundation to ensure it has been properly bolted to the foundation and there aren’t any crazy car jacks being used to support that big ‘ol bathtub!
